William Taylor Adams (1822 - 1897), was a popular American author better known by his pseudonym Oliver Optic. Adams wrote well over 100 books in total, most of them for a boy audience, and the majority of these in series of four to six volumes published under a pseudonym.
"A Victorious Union" is the sixth and last of "The Blue and the Gray Series." In this series, the author has confined his narrative of adventures to the navy.
