The American Rifleman
November 1969
Vol. 117, No. 11
108 pages
Cover: Jefferson's Beloved Guns
COVER: The flintlock pistols shown are the only surviving firearms of Thomas Jefferson, third President of the United States, a man some might term today a 'gun-nut' because of his enthusiasm for firearms. These English pistols unscrew (see lower) so powder and ball may be loaded directly into the chambers. The are 9 1/4" long and about .45 cal. Both are damaged, one badly. The NRA was instrumental in restoring them for their owner, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation (See p. 21-22, also p. 17-20).
Secure binding with clean pages and mild cover wear. Vintage illustrated magazine.
