The Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex located in Granada,
Andalusia, Spain. It is one of the most famous monuments of Islamic architecture and one of the best-preserved palaces of the historic Islamic world, in addition to containing notable examples of Spanish Renaissance architecture.
The Generalife became a leisure place for the kings of Granada when they wanted to get away from the official affairs of the palace. In 1984 the Generalife was awarded the status of World Heritage Site alongside the Alhambra palace and together they form one of the most important legacies of Moorish architecture and design in Spain.
