Edward Hugh Sothern (1859 – 1933) was an American actor who specialized in dashing, romantic leading roles and particularly in Shakespeare roles.
Bound in the original pictorial boards with a handsome, hand colored, drawing of the Ophelia funeral scene by McLellan on the front cover. Illustrated with 17 full-page photos from the original stage production. One of the photos is the actress pictured as Virginia Harned, "Sothern's first wife."
