Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875) was a Danish poet and author celebrated for his children’s stories but perhaps best known for his fables and fairy tales – meant for both adults and children. Though simple at first glance, Hans Andersen Fairy Tales often convey sophisticated moral teachings, in equal measure heart-breaking and heart-warming.
Green hardcover with a black title and black art piece to the front center. Secure with a mild center binding crack, a nice cover with just very light wear, and lightly bumped bottom corner tips. The title page has Merry Xmas names (gift) at an open spot. Undated circa 1930s. The jacket is lightly rubbed with mild creases and tiny edge tears (small chip at inside flap corner tip), with an innocuous owner name at the top edge and mild residue of erased pencil. 8-1/4 x 6 with 228 pages. Scarce classic fiction children's book with the original jacket!
