A Protestant Episcopal minister, was born at New London, Connecticut, September 30, 1807. After some time spent in teaching, he graduated from the General Theological Seminary of New York city in 1832; in August of the same year was ordained deacon in Hartford, Connecticut, and went to Meriden as rector of St. Andrew's Church, where he was ordained presbyter, August 2, 1833. He returned to New London in January 1835, as rector of St. James's Church, a position which he held until his death, January 4, 1877.
In 1836 he published a volume of Lectures on the Morning Prayer, and a volume of Sermons; also, in 1871, a course of Lectures on Moses, and in 1873 a History of his Parish Church.
Dark brown cover with gilt spine title and chocolate endpapers. Secure binding with clean pages and original owner bookplate at the inside cover. Small frays at the extremities and mild cover soil/wear. About 7-1/2 x 5 with 360 pp. plus ads. Scarce.
