Roy Wood Sellars (1880-1973) was a Canadian-born American philosopher of critical realism and religious humanism, and a proponent of naturalistic emergent evolution (which he called evolutionary naturalism).
Sellars received his B.A. from the
University of Michigan. For much of his career he taught at Michigan. His son was the philosopher Wilfrid Sellars. He helped draft the Humanist Manifesto (1933) & signed the Humanist Manifesto II (1973).
