The Mystery of Cloomber is a novel by the British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It is narrated by John Fothergill West, a Scot who has moved with his family from Edinburgh to Wigtownshire to care for the estate of his father's half brother, William Farintosh. It was first published in 1889.
Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle (1859-1930) was a British writer and physician. He created the character Sherlock Holmes in 1887 for A Study in Scarlet, the first of four novels and fifty-six short stories about Holmes and Dr. Watson. Burgundy cover with gilt spine title and blind-stamped floret front border. The inner binding is lightly cracked though secure, and the spine is heavily shifted. And the cover is lightly soil rubbed with a few surface ripple creases to the bottom front corner. Just a light surface corner page crease first several in to good clean pages. Scarce in fair plus condition. About 7-1/2 x 5 with 206 pages. Undated circa 1890.
