The New-England Courant (No. 80-Feb. 11, 1723) Benjamin Franklin Facsimile Print
The New-England Courant, No. 80
James Franklin, the older brother of Benjamin Franklin started the newspaper in 1721. It was the third newspaper in Boston and one of the earliest in America, where young Benjamin Franklin worked (with his brother) as a printing apprentice. The fourteen Silence Dogood additions (written by Benjamin Franklin under the pen name) were created in 1722, the last of which was published in October—just four months prior.
This is a high-definition, black & white facsimile print from the original 1856 facsimile newspaper (of the 1723 two-page newspaper). Many hours were spent crafting this double-sided, legal-size paper, commemorative print (not a photocopy). And it was fashioned by Rose City Books on July 4, 2020—in celebration of Independence Day.
