Vintage from the 1930s

A delightful combination of travel book, guide-book and informal history, "The Story of Bermuda" is, as the author says in his preface, "an attempt to give a feeling of the place in a rendering of an atmosphere which has grown out of climate, scenic beauty, historical events, the character of the people and their manners, the country's architecture, time's mutations."

Pearl cover with green spine title and silver seahorse illustration to the front. Lightly faded/soil rubbed cover with a secure binding and clean pages (foxing at half-title from bookplate on opposite page). And some mild damp stains at the outer paper edge. About 9 x 6-1/2 with 374 pages. Illustrations, map (on lining papers).
