Fancy color illustrated cover over blue boards (with fish, birds and floral decoration). 1-3/4 inch chip (at its highest point) and a 1 inch top edge chip (rubbed edges and frayed corner tips). Some mild soil smudging to pages and very light foxing, and a few small edge tears. Illustrated. Original owner name and 1879 Christmas date at the front endpaper. About 8-1/4 x 6-3/4 with 160 pages. The first listed author is Louisa May Alcott. Rare children's book!
